Rockaway Bride is by Pippa Grant. This is my third book by Pippa and I have to say that she is fast becoming an obsession of mine. This book was amazing. It is hilarious but filled with so much heart. You will most definitely laugh out loud…a LOT! Maybe even snort laugh! But you will also sigh, swoon, perhaps even gasp. What you will most definitely do is fall in love with these characters. If you’ve read any of the other books, then you’ve already met Willow Honeycutt who is part of the all girl Rockaway Bride is by Pippa Grant. You will most definitely laugh out loud…a LOT! Maybe even snort laugh! But you will also sigh, swoon, perhaps even gasp. What you will most definitely do is fall in love with these characters. If you’ve read any of the other books, then you’ve already met Willow Honeycutt who is part of the all girl band that plays locally for juice bars and such. In the previous books, she was the quiet one, the good girl. Her day job is a preschool teacher. She was engaged to be married to Martin and always seemed fairly stressed with planning the wedding. Her mother married the King of Stolland, a small Nordic country. So the wedding was being held at the palace in Stolland. Our story starts out the night before the wedding and Willow is having second thoughts. Does she really love Martin? Can she truly tie herself to this man forever more? Willow isn’t much of a drinker and in Stolland, they drink mead which does crazy things to her so maybe that was her first mistake. Dax Gallagher is lead singer for the band Half Cocked Heroes. He is known for his gravelly voice, his tight hard body, his tattoos, and for his drinking, women and wild ways. It’s the wild ways that might have gotten him in trouble or perhaps hexed. Their band has been plagued with bad luck as of late. Are they on their way to being a has been? Ticket sales have been down. The guitarist injured his finger! And their drummer is missing. AND, Willow’s fiancé stole all of Dax’s money. Everything he’d been saving up for when he needed it. Not only his but his drummer’s as well. It’s all gone. So Dax is in Stolland. Maybe he didn’t originally intend to kidnap Martin’s fiancé, but with the help of some whiskey, he is now in the bottom of a fishing boat hand cuffed to her. He’ll demand that Martin return his money to get his fiancé back. Only this plan isn’t going as he intended either! And so the adventure begins. Willow has written a bucket list of all the things she wants to do but has never had the courage, or didn’t do because she didn’t want to worry her mother. She writes one for Dax as well. She knows that Dax won’t hurt her. And that he hasn’t really kidnapped her at all but has stayed with her to protect her. That really, she has kidnapped him. “I don’t want to spend one more second being afraid to live.” “Dax is oddly likable even when he hates me. I don’t want to know what I’d think if there was any chance he might actually secretly like me.” There is definitely crazy chemistry between these two. Dax fights it for as long as he can. Every person and every animal they encounter along the way seems to fall in love with Willow. Could the same thing be happening to him? “The moment my lips crash against hers, everything shifts into place. For the first time in months, I’m grounded. Solid. Where I’m supposed to be. Doing what I’m supposed to be doing.” Their adventure takes them all over Europe. They encounter sheep, kidnapping Belgian stilt fighters, nuns, and so much more. And through it all, Dax watches Willow come alive, and he falls deeper every day. “In this moment, I finally have something I’ve been missing for days. Weeks. Months, probably. I have belief. Belief that everything is going to be just fine.” I loved this book so much. You can definitely read it as a stand alone. But if you want to meet the other members of Willow’s band, then definitely pick up some of the other books. I have read Mister McHottie and Stud in the Stacks and loved them both like crazy. You don’t have to read them, though. You will still fall in love with Willow and Dax without them. This is one of those books that just make my world a little bit brighter. I can’t wait to read more from this author. I hope you’ll love it too!

5 stars! By now it's no secret that I love pretty much anything Pippa Grant puts out, and this was no different. Still revolving around the same crew of lovable characters from her previous books, Rockaway Bride focuses on Willow - the boy-band covering all-girl band singer - and Dax, down on his luck rock star with a mean grudge against Willow's fiancee, Martin. His plan to get revenge? Kidnap the (literal) princess until he gets what he wants from Martin. What he doesn't plan on, however, is for 5 stars! Or for her to knock him on his ass, surprising him at every turn of their crazy adventure together. And it really is an adventure. Starting in Stolland, then Scotland, Belgium and France... this book was like a road trip for my eyes. The humor. The angst. The self-discovery and the romance. Another favorite from Grant, and I can't wait to see what she comes out with next.

3.5 stars I enjoyed this one, it was funny and so sweet. Loved both MCs, the hero was the sweetest jerk, he has so much to endure by himself, but that didn't stop him from falling in love with the reckless, carefree Willow. I can understand Dax's fascination, she was so lovely. He actually loved her more than she did him, and I couldn't be happier. Definitely trying more books by this author.

Dear lord, my stomach muscles still hurt from all the laughing while reading Rockaway Bride! Pippa is so amazing at turning any situation and scene into a hilarious, laugh out loud moment. Dax is a famous rock star who is down on his luck. Everything is falling apart, and he doesn't know how to make it right. After one drunken night, he decides to kidnap Willow the night before her wedding as ransom. However, his plan turns in a cray whirlwind adventure of crazy strangers, wild antics, farm animals, nuns, and unbelievable circumstances. Throughout the time, Dax and Willow begin to grow closer which surprises Dax. He is very outgoing, but only those close to him know the real Dax. He puts up a front that matches his rock star persona. When walls fall, these two have a decision to make...was what they felt real or just a product of a spontaneous, fun adventure that should never be repeated? These characters and their friends keep getting better and better. They are such a tight knit group of friends who aren't always who they seem...especially Eloise. I am really hoping she gets her own story because she is such a mysterious, crazy character. -An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.-

4 Hilarious Stars Initially I was worried that I wasn’t going to like this book because, frankly, Dax wasn’t really all that likeable to me. Rockaway Bride is my favourite Pippa Grant book to date! Her comedic writing shows no signs of abating. There are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, be it from situations our characters find themselves in to the naming of characters. I loved Willow and Dax. Willow is friendly and approachable. Dax is a grump. Poor Dax; he’s yet to realise doesn’t stand a chance against Willow. Willow and Dax are two imperfect main characters who find themselves in a situation neither wants to be in. One kidnapping/escape plan later (you decide which it is because Willow and Dax still disagree), these two traverse Europe in search of adventure. Well, Willow wants adventure; Dax is sticking close by because she is the key to him getting his money back. And adventure is what they certainly find. From lifestyle bloggers, to truculent farmers, to a gaggle of nuns, it’s definitely a fun ride as Willow ticks items off her bucket list. The physical attraction between Willow and Dax is scorching hot but more importantly, they fall for each other as people with personalities. Even with all the antics along the way, I loved that focus was never taken off our couple as they shake off the bad things in their lives and emerge as better individuals as well as a couple in love. Rockaway Bride sees many of the characters from previous books making an appearance. I loved getting to know Eloise much better and I can’t wait for her book. Dax’s band mates are just as quirky as Willow’s friends, making for an even better read. Rockaway Bride is one rollicking good ride! If you’re after a fun, humour-filled read, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

My very first Pippa Grant book and now I NEED to go back and read ALLLLLLLL of them!!!! Rockaway Bride had me at the first chapter, I can best describe this book at madcap – an old word for sure, but it brought to mind some great classic movies that I adore. But as they bounce along on their journey, things get flipped and that attraction is powerful. I adored Willow Honeycutt. She is a sweet pre-school teacher, who is mostly risk averse and can rephrase profanity like a freaking master. But don’t be fooled, underneath that docile-ish exterior is a woman who needs to bust loose. And she does…. As the story progresses, it is impossible not to fall harder for Willow – the real Willow. Dax. It took some time for me to warm up to him, but once I did, I came to appreciate the man he was. Understanding everything that lead to kidnapping Willow really flipped the script and solidified his good guy status for me. Together though, these two are so much fun. But it becomes more than a runaway bride/kidnapping. Each recognizes that the other truly needs each pin on their journey – whether it’s to fulfill a wish or to let go and forget, you get to appreciate the true measure of these two characters. SIGH. Rockaway Bride is the best kind of fun you can have between the pages - it’s a riotous caper with characters that you will not soon forget!! Enjoy ever single bit of it!!! Happy reading!!! The happiness that shines through in all of Pippa Grant's books makes ME so happy! I am becoming somewhat of a broken record every time I try to review her books. I can not remember the last time I read one since I move along after reading the blurb for a rock star storyline. Or, I move along when I see a guitar in the cover picture. It's just not my thing. Well, I'll be honest to say that I already have another one in my TBR after finishing this one. Yep, Pippa has done the world a service by opening a reluctant reader's eyes to another romance trope. I fell for Dax. I fell hard. I adored the side characters, as well as Dax and Willow. Every time Willow tried to use pre-schoolese to pretty up curse words, it just warmed my heart. I have a tendency to stay in a sort of "happy bubble" when I am reading one of Pippa Grant's entertaining tales. I realized that as I was reading along in this book that Pippa gives me things I don't even know to ask for. I will finish a page and think, "that's exactly what I needed to hear/think/feel to understand what I need to understand". Kind of eerie, but totally satisfying. I would recommend this book if you need a happiness boost, a little dose of silly, a reason to smile,.......even if you think you don't like rock star books. I received an ARC of Rockaway Bride and the opinions are completely honest and my own.

At least it was a quick read and I could erase it from my mind almost instantly.

What does a Rock Star, a reluctant Bride to be, missing money, kidnappings & Royalty have in common?? My heart is full Again with one of the greatest books I’ve read lately. Pippa Grant is a master of the strong yet vulnerable heroines and I love her for that. I wasn’t sure about Dax at first, but of course I grew to love him as much as sweet Willow did. Dax wanting Willow to LIVE was the most heart melting thing ever. All the adventures on their epic road trip were so fun to read about! I was amazed, and wondrous, and tickled pink as each new grand escapade appeared. I've got a big ol author crush on miss Grant. Rockaway Bride was only my second Grant novel and I'm hooked. I can't wait to read what she writes next. Willow and Dax were so wonderful. Willow, likable from the start, Dax a down on his luck broody rockstar. I couldn't get enough of them. Surprisingly, the goats and nuns really worked for me.

Oh man! Talk about a couple that was meant for each other! Dax and Willow are classic push/pull throughout Rockaway Bride. But after years of dating a "normal" guy, she's about to play runaway bride - and her life will never be the same. Dax is wiped out. He invested everything and this milktoasty weasel up and ran off with all of it. Turns out the douchecanoe is engaged to the step-daughter of Stölland royalty, so kidnapping her the night before the wedding seemed like the thing to do. Finding out that she was running away anyway is only a minor hitch in the plan. His stubble scratches the delicate skin around my mouth, his fingers dig into my hip, and his tongue gives no mercy. He kisses me like he intends to ruin me, to put all other kisses to shame, to set a new standard for every man I ever meet for the rest of my life. Along the way, Dax and Willow kidnap each other, and forget their troubles for a while. Of course they end up falling in love - and if you think that's me giving up the plot, you've got another thing coming. This story is one for the books. I give Rockaway Bride five animal husbandry stars.

Once again we return to the wild, wonderful, wacky world of supersized and royal hockey players, an all girls boy band cover band and emotional support monkeys, with the addition of stilt fighters, nuns and affectionate farm animals. Truthfully, we all knew Willow wouldn’t really marry Martin, but who could have foreseen what would happen next? After consuming too much mead in the company of the royal sheep, Willow finds herself handcuffed to the world's biggest rock star, stowed away below deck on a stinky fishing boat. And then things really get interesting. Instead of a hostage stolen away from her wedding at the royal castle, Willow turns the tables and spends her honeymoon taking Dax, her rock star kidnapper, on the adventure of a lifetime through Europe. Now you're probably asking, “Why would a rock star kidnap a preschool teacher related to royalty?” That’s actually quite an entertaining story you’ll have to read to believe. I think Willow’s story will resonate with a lot of readers. If we're honest, we read fiction to escape real life for a little while, and who wouldn't love to ditch the day to day routine and go on a crazy, fantastic adventure of a lifetime? And in classic Pippa style, this is one outrageous, hilarious, thrilling adventure. But along with all the madcap antics and zany situations, the changes and growth in both Willow and Dax as their relationship develops is a beautiful, heartwarming delight to watch. Willow breaks out of her preschool teacher mold and let’s the bold, courageous, risk taker loose. As Dax tags along and observes Willow, doing his best to keep her out of trouble, his perspective on his life and career changes. He realizes not everyone is after him for his fame and fortune, and most of all, he learns to live in the moment, have some fun and actually laugh, which he hasn’t done for a very long time. It’s always a bittersweet experience when I’ve finished a Pippa Grant book. I’ve laughed till my side hurts and tears are running down my face. I’ve possibly cried but definitely had my heart squeezed within an inch of its life. I’ve lived a grand, exciting adventure that I never want to see end. I’ve loved, both the amazing story as well as these quirky, phenomenal, perfectly flawed and eternally endearing characters who have forever carved their place in my heart. This book touches every part of the reader with its humor, hilarity, tenderness and heart, and I will never get enough of these spectacular, unique, perfectly imperfect characters. If you’ve never read Pippa, seriously, what are you waiting for?!! Her books promise an unparalleled reading experience that will touch your heart, make the worst day brighter, and even help to restore your faith in humanity. I promise, you’ll be glad you did! *I reviewed this book freely and voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind from any source for this review.

“All y'all's crazy.” That may be the best line to describe this absolutely freaking hilarious book! I seriously laughed and snorted my way through the whole thing. My family thought I was nuts and there was no good way to explain the funny to my kids when there's lines about sheep breaking wind, dreams of regrowing personal bits shaped line banana with half peels, words like twatasaurus, and a “runaway bride gone wild.” I don't know how anyone could turn away after reading the blurb for this boo “All y'all's crazy.” That may be the best line to describe this absolutely freaking hilarious book! My family thought I was nuts and there was no good way to explain the funny to my kids when there's lines about sheep breaking wind, dreams of regrowing personal bits shaped line banana with half peels, words like twatasaurus, and a “runaway bride gone wild.” I don't know how anyone could turn away after reading the blurb for this book. In this topsy turvy, curve ball book, Willow gets kidnapped by a down on his luck rocker on the eve of her wedding. Dax just wants what was stolen from him returned. Their hilarious adventure through Europe proves that “change isn't just good. It's artistically necessary.” Willow is a straight-laced preschool teacher who has an epiphany the night before her wedding. Her brilliant use of preschool antics makes her character supremely believable while totally endearing. Meanwhile Dax is a rockstar who has lost a fortune to Willow's fiance. He kidnaps Willow just as she's “running” away from her wedding. But Willow turns the tables on Dax and decides she needs to fulfill an insane bucket list of items, with his help as a bad boy. Their fantastic friends and family are grand additions to the cast, providing hilarious antics along the way. Of course the big bad rocker is going to fall for the good girl preschool teacher. And they do so in a spectacular fashion! “I'm a desperate, horny, needy ball of lust.” For real, the steam these two give off could power a locomotive. I loved their interactions, which started off jaded and hateful; but turned salacious in all the best romance novel ways. Pippa Grant has written such a fast paced romance novel of hilarious proportions. This was my first time reading one of her books, and I'm am seriously hooked. She did a lovely job of bringing the characters, locations, and situations to life. I was drawn in with the flirty yet gritty details that make all the difference in a believable story you can delve into. “Magic with a sweet melody and a heavy bass beat and a desperate crescendo...” This book is a fantastic romantic comedy that I hope you all take the time to read. Because then you'll be hooked and attempting to see how many of the author's books you can get away with buying. Honestly, I had a blast reading this book, and I'm excited to find out more about the characters we read about in this book. Rockaway Bride I have to admit this was the first Pippa Grant book I purchased. I was looking for a new Rockstar book. While reading some of the reviews, I discovered it was part of a series, and that some of the secondary characters in this book, had their own stories. So of course, I had to backtrack and read the earlier books. I’ve loved all of them, glad I went back. While each book is a standalone, there are hints, and inside jokes, if you will, that you’ll miss without the earlier stories. While each book is a standalone, there are hints, and inside jokes, if you will, that you’ll miss without the earlier stories. I loved Dax and Willow. What starts out as a kidnapping/runaway bride situation, quickly becomes something quite different. Willow finally realizes what all of her family and friends have known for quite awhile, her fiancé is a flake. With the help and blessings of her stepbrothers, she runs away the night before the wedding. Only to run into the arms of a desperate Dax. Dax has a, sort of, plan. He needs Willow to leverage her fiancé to recover his money. But it was apparent from the start, that he was, deep down, a good guy. But in a very desperate situation. It doesn’t take long for Willow to flip their roles as she becomes the one issuing the orders. Their “kidnapping” quickly becomes one epic adventure. No money, no clothes, no passports. Relying only on the kindness of strangers, Willow sets out to cross some things off of her bucket list. And along the way both of them have life changing epiphanies. Willow learns to live in the moment. Realizing she doesn’t have to always be the perfect daughter or the prim pre-school teacher. It’s ok to step outside of her comfort zone. Dax quickly forgets about his money, realizing there are more important things to life. Like remembering to live. Not everyone he encounters is looking for what he can do for them. Some want to be with him. The man. Not the wealthy Rockstar. Just him. The book was laugh out loud funny. You have donkeys, sheep, cows, a hatchet wielding Scotswoman, a van full of nuns and Belgiums on stilts, and that’s only a small sampling of what they encounter. It does have a happy ending. No cheating, no drama. I loved seeing all of the past characters show up for the big “rescue”. My only disappointment was that the ending felt rushed. Like there were chunks missing. And I really wanted the Ex’s story. What happened to him, with him? It was just left hanging.

Willow has spent years being known as the "mother" of her friend group, the preschool teacher who strives to make sure everyone she cares about is happy ... even if that means dimming a little of her shine in the process. After a drunken night being bride-napped by a disgruntled rockstar, she now has a chance to do something crazy. She's witty, independent, and fiesty ... she no longer has to shy away from living on impulse and saying what's on her mind. She's hidden this full of life and occasionally reckless piece of herself from everyone, and now that she's free from her stiff of an ex-fiancé it's time to let that piece of her come out to play. Dax has spent the last 15 years of his life working his ass with his band to become the worldwide sensation they are. He's used to everyone around him just wanting something from him, having little care if they hurt him. It's no difference when the scumbag he invested his money with ups and runs off with it. Dax will do whatever is necessary to get his money back and make sure he can still provide for the people who are relying on him, even if it means he has to bride-nap the guy's fiancé. Oh my lanta this book. There were so many times I was left asking myself "is this even real", but every damn time I questioned it I realized that would be their luck to have that crazy thing happen to them. The different adventures Dax and Willow have are borderline unrealistic, and I feel like this story could only work for them. This is Dax and Willow's story. Crazy things happen. They get knocked up. They roll with the punches. At the end of the day they are just living, something they both have longed for the entire time. The connection they share is electric and hot damn I loved every taste of their budding romance. This is slow burn, but it burns oh so good. When you finally get the payoff and they are together it is passionate and fiery and leaves you wanting more. The only thing that could've use a little tweaking for me was the "climax". It didn't feel as "oh my lanta no that can't happen to them". I like my climaxes to knock me off my feet and screw with me emotionally. Just a few subtle tweaks and this could have destroyed me, in a good way. Their adventures are off their walker. Their lives are in no way ready for each other. They are about as believable as a box of dildos in the middle of the road breaking down a van, but that's what makes them work. Dax and Willow work because they are Dax and Willow. I would like to subscribe to their brand of crazy and strive to live without abandon the way Willow does once she is free.

I want to give this more stars! In Rockaway Bride, the mild mannered, preschool teacher, Willow gets kidnapped by revenge seeking rocker, Dax. I was on team Willow from the time I met her in Mr. McHottie...and disliked the twatopatamus (thanks again Zeus 😁), Martin for an equally long time. I mean seriously, who stays engaged to someone as awesome as Willow for seven years, and doesn't seal the deal? Plus the fact that her boy - band loving posse dislikes him just cements his character as a total d°uche-canoe. In drunkenly weaves Dax, unwitting rescuer/intentional kidnapper (tomato /po-tah-toh), and Pippa Grant style mayhem is ensues. I love his character and he complements Willow so well. Between the protective donkey, stilt walking security, wayward band mate, body building nun, missing money and over- protective friends and family, Willow's adventurous soul finds release. I absolutely love this book. I say that with every Pippa Grant book, and each one gets better. This one? So hot! So. Many. Feels! Omg! Tissues for the laughing tears and the crying kind, and dry knickers should be a requirement when reading this book. I usually recommend grabbing a big girl beverage of choice as well when getting comfy to read a good book. With Pippa Grant I feel the need to do the opposite... Do not eat or drink anything while reading her books. When, out of the blue, you start laughing out loud with tears streaming down your face , that's just a choking hazard waiting to happen. Really, who wants to potentially require CPR and risk interrupting a truly fabulous book when they don't have to? Once again, I give Pippa an Amazon five star review, but a 10+ from my book-living heart. As always, I'm looking forward to what comes next from this rom-com writing genius.
